Wire Technician

CBI Cables, a leading manufacturer and distributor of audio, video, data, and power cabling products for the entertainment industry for nearly 40 years, is growing rapidly as the demand for shows and live events comes roaring back in 2021. We are have several immediate positions to fill at our Oriskany, NY location in our cable assembly team. No experience is necessary, and all relevant training will be provided.

CBI is a family owned and operated company with a reputation within our industry for producing quality cables. Our organization also enjoys an excellent employee retention record. The average wire technician has been with us for 15 years.

We only work one daytime shift and work hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. CBI maintains a clean, air conditioned, and safe work environment, and our management team has a strong commitment to the development of our current and new team members.

Job Duties:

• Practice and follow all CBI Cables Safety Policies daily

• Preparation and termination of wires on a large variety of cables utilizing a soldering iron, crimping tools and cordless screwdrivers to complete various cable assemblies.

• Inspect and test finished products as needed

• Record a list of all produced items on a daily basis

• Maintain a clean and safe work station both during and at the end of the work shift

Required Skills:

• Ability to read, learn, and build from simple wiring schematics

• Ability to work well with others in a fast paced production environment

• Must posses the ability to learn and retain simple assembly procedures and techniques

• Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently to produce high quality products in a timely fashion

• Ability to use hand tools such as soldering irons, crimpers, cordless screwdrivers, heat guns, and wire snips

Compensation:

• This position is piece-rate, typically allowing rapid pay increases in pay during the first year, with a guaranteed minimum pay during training. Prior experience and education will be considered as we seek to fill multiple positions.
